Today's picture is a Black-tailed Prairie Dog. This one was very interested in what the big monkey with the camera was doing the day I photographed it. It would be scurrying around and every few minutes pop up to see what was going on. This prairie dog lives at the Hutchinson Zoo in Hutchinson, KS.

Today's picture is a Klipspringer antelope. They are usually nocturnal so spend most of their day resting, like these two. They live at the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium in Omaha, NE.

So it is Thursday, and time once again for my weekly update. It has been a good week. Saturday evening I turned over the the rough draft for a second round of editing. And I brought in two more professionals to help me with business side of releasing a book. I am looking forward to seeing what we can collaborate on with regards to getting the book out there in front of people.

And another big thank you to everyone who has liked the page. We passed 500 likes this past week on Facebook and are closing in on 600, maybe by Sunday evening, fingers crossed. I can tell there is a lot of excitement out there for this project. And I hope everyone is enjoying the "Pictures of the Day" as I am calling them. Look for them on Tuesdays and Fridays.

I did not get to the web site as much this week as I had hoped. We had a "fire drill" at work which meant 3 long nights in a row for work. But hopefully over the weekend I can get some more of the zoos out there. It is a big project getting everything posted and organized.

Today's picture is a Sichuan Takin. This was one of the animals I discovered on my trips to the zoos and they rapidly became one of my favorite animals to see. This takin lives at Hemker Park and Zoo in Freeport, MN

Today's picture is a Meerkat. This little one was trying to help the viewers of the meerkat cam. "Just let me adjust this bit right here and turn this knob over there and voila!!" This meerkat lives at the Great Plains Zoo and Delbridge Museum of Natural History in Sioux Falls, SD.
